Our Story

The Beginning

In 1979, a small group of Welsh expatriates gathered in Vancouver with a simple dream: to preserve their musical heritage and share the rich tradition of Welsh male voice singing with their new community. What began as a handful of men missing the sounds of home has grown into something far greater—a diverse choir of almost 60 men from all walks of life who have discovered that music transcends borders, backgrounds, and generations.

Our Mission

“To share the joy of singing with each other and our audiences in a spirit of fellowship, charity and artistic growth.”

Evolution and Growth

Over nearly half a century, we’ve evolved from our Welsh roots into something uniquely Vancouver. While we honour our Celtic heritage—from cathedral solemnity to pub camaraderie—we’ve embraced the multicultural fabric of our city. Our repertoire spans traditional Welsh hymns to contemporary pieces that reflect the diverse backgrounds of our members and audiences.

We’ve become more than a choir; we’ve become a community where men find brotherhood, purpose, and healing through the power of shared song.

“I joined thinking I was simply joining a choir. How wrong I was! This is far more than a choir—it’s an essential facet of our community.” — Member
